St George's CE Primary School

St. George’s Church of England Primary is a thriving school in the heart of Westhoughton.  We are very proud of our well behaved and hardworking pupils who make every day special!  We have a very caring, dedicated and enthusiastic staff team who have high expectations for every child and are committed to high standards of teaching and learning - achieved through challenge, support and encouragement.  Our governors are very proactive in their involvement in school life and recognise all the hard work and success we achieve but also provide challenge that helps to drive school improvements.  Our parents fully engage with school life and support all we do.  We are also fortunate to have our own Church in the centre of our school building and are blessed in having a vibrant and supportive Church family as part of our school community.

The academic year of 2020-21 was a year that noone could have predicted.  It brought about so many difficulties and challenges for us all.  However, the children of St George's adapted so well to the changes of routines in school we all should be so very proud of them.  They are children of character, personality, energy, enthusiasm and most of all resilience.  They lit up our school each day and proved how wonderful they all are.  It was lovely to celebrate the last days in school during our 'Shine for Summer' week.  The children learnt how to eat a healthy diet, the importance of being active and enjoyed enrichment activities such as Nerf Wars, Slip and Slide, water fights, smoothie bikes and of course a delicious ice cream!  And if that was not enough, their singing in our 'Proms in the Hall' production was nothing short of brilliant!

We look forward to welcoming our children back in September and hope for a hard working, enjoyable and successful school year.
